Equipment explorer β look at & learn
Tap each item to identify it and see what it does β the fluid balance chart, the measuring jug with its meniscus, and the urinalysis dipstick with its reagent pads and colour chart.
Knowledge primer
Work through the concept cards, then pass the check to unlock the practical stations. Thresholds and timings vary β always follow local policy and manufacturer instructions.
Measuring & fluid balance
Read the jug accurately at the meniscus, record each measured value in the correct column, and let the chart total the balance. Measure β don't estimate.
Urinalysis dipstick
Use a fresh specimen, check the strip, dip and tap off excess, then read each pad at its set time against the colour chart. Timing is critical β reading too early or too late gives a false result.
Interpret & escalate
Interpretation is a guide β correlate clinically and escalate abnormal results and red flags. Two scenarios: an abnormal dipstick and reduced urine output. Recognise β correlate β escalate β document.
Debrief & marking guide
Your performance mapped to the HLTENN043 marking items. Each is Satisfactory or Not Yet Satisfactory; critical safety items must be met. Aggregate is based on first-attempt accuracy.
