Mandatory Reporting in Australia – 2025 Edition
Mandatory Reporting in Australia – 2025 Edition provides a comprehensive, up-to-date overview of the legal obligations required of workers across Aged Care, Disability/NDIS, Health, Community Services, Education, and Child Protection. This module equips learners with the essential knowledge needed to recognise, respond to, and report abuse, neglect, misconduct, risk, and safety concerns in accordance with all Australian regulatory frameworks.
Participants will develop a clear understanding of sector-specific reporting systems, including the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS), NDIS Reportable Incidents, AHPRA Notifiable Conduct, and state-based Child Protection legislation. The module also covers the responsibilities of mixed-workforce environments, where workers may be required to report under more than one regulatory scheme simultaneously.
Through practical case studies, real-world examples, and step-by-step response models, learners will build confidence in:
Identifying indicators of harm, abuse, and neglect
Taking immediate safety actions
Making timely internal and external notifications
Documenting incidents factually and professionally
Following trauma-informed and person-centred approaches
Understanding legal protections, duty of care, and reporting thresholds
By the end of this module, workers will be fully prepared to meet Australia’s 2025 mandatory reporting standards, uphold the rights and safety of vulnerable people, and contribute to a culture of transparency, accountability, and safeguarding across all care sectors.
